This Blog presents the ongoing efforts of the UD MIMO project sponsored by ONR DURIP progra. The proposed project is to develop a versatile, mobile acoustic MIMO communications testbed on AUV’s at the frequency band of 8-50 kHz for data communications studies on various submerged platforms.

MIMO payload module

Here is a cut-away sketch of the payload module containing the
transducer power amp boards along with the DAQ (left section) and also
showing the flooded section (right) where the transducers reside
behind an acoustically transparent plastic shielding. Final
arrangement of the transducer mounts will depend on the results of
preliminary testing.
